§ 20. Small claims for injury or damage
The Board shall have exclusive jurisdiction over claims of $5,000.00 or less made
for personal injuries or property damage, or both, sustained as the result of the
negligence of any employee of the Agency. The Board may hear all parties in interest
and may award damages not to exceed $5,000.00. When the Board awards damages, it shall
certify its decision to the Commissioner of Finance and Management. Upon the disposition
of any appeal or the expiration or waiver of all appeal rights, the Commissioner of
Finance and Management shall issue his or her warrant for the amount of the award,
with payment in the manner prescribed by 12 V.S.A. § 5604.
