§ 10n. Mobility and Transportation Innovations (MTI) Grant Program
(a) The Mobility and Transportation Innovations (MTI) Grant Program is created within
the Public Transit Section of the Agency. The MTI Grant Program shall support innovative
transportation demand management programs and transit initiatives that improve mobility
and access to services for transit-dependent Vermonters, reduce the use of single-occupancy
vehicles, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and complement existing mobility investments.
(b) Grant awards of not more than $250,000.00 per recipient for capital or operational
costs, or both, may be used to create new or expand existing programs for one or more
of the following: matching funds for other grant awards, program delivery costs, or
the extension of existing programs.
(c) Funding under the MTI Grant Program shall not be used to supplant existing State funding
for the same project or program.
(d) In each year in which funding for grants is available:
(1) The Agency shall establish an application period of at least four months.
(2) The Agency shall provide direct assistance to entities requiring technical assistance
or prereview of a draft application during the application period.
(3) Grant awards shall be distributed not later than November 30 in each year in which
they are offered.
