§ 9458. Hospital networks; structure; financial operations
(a) The Board may review and evaluate the structure of a hospital network to determine:
(1) whether any network operations should be organized and operated out of a hospital
instead of at the network; and
(2) whether the existence and operation of a network provides value to Vermonters, is
in the public interest, and is consistent with the principles for health care reform
expressed in section 9371 of this title and with the Statewide Health Care Delivery Strategic Plan, once established.
(b) In order to protect the public interest, the Board may, on its own initiative, investigate
the financial operations of a hospital network, including compensation of the network’s
employees and executive leadership.
(c) The Board may recommend any action it deems necessary to correct any aspect of the
structure of a hospital network or its financial operations that are inconsistent
with the principles for health care reform expressed in section 9371 of this title or with the Statewide Health Care Delivery Strategic Plan, once established.
