§ 906d. Renewal requirements; sunset review
(a) Not less than once every five years, the Department shall review emergency medical
personnel continuing education and other continuing competency requirements. The review
results shall be in writing and address the following:
(1) the renewal requirements of the profession;
(2) the renewal requirements in other jurisdictions, particularly in the Northeast region;
(3) the cost of the renewal requirements for emergency medical personnel; and
(4) an analysis of the utility and effectiveness of the renewal requirements with respect
to public protection.
(b) The Department shall amend its rules or propose any necessary statutory amendments
to revise any emergency medical personnel continuing education and other continuing
competency requirements that are not necessary for the protection of the public health,
safety, or welfare.
