§ 1724. Advancement reckoned toward heir’s share If the amount advanced exceeds the share of the heir or other estate beneficiary, he or she shall be excluded from any further share in the estate but shall not be liable to refund any part of the amount advanced. If the advancement is less than the share of the heir or other estate beneficiary, he or she shall receive a further sum that, with the advancement, equals his or her legal share in the estate.
