§ 6642. Summoning witnesses in this State to testify in another state
If a judge of a court of record in any state which by its laws has made provision
for commanding persons within that state to attend and testify in an action in this
State, certifies under the seal of such court that there is an action pending in that
court, that a person being within this State is a material witness in the action,
and that his or her presence will be required for a specified number of days, upon
presentation of the certificate to any Superior judge in the unit in which the person
is, the judge shall fix a time and place for a hearing in the unit and shall notify
the witness by an order stating the purpose of the hearing and directing him or her
to appear therefor at a time and place certain.
