§ 3967. Examination in case of sick prisoner When the prisoner cannot be brought to the place appointed for the return of the writ, without danger, because of his or her sickness or infirmity, that fact shall be stated in the return. When such fact is provided to the satisfaction of such court or magistrate, he or she may proceed to the jail or other place where the prisoner is confined and there make an examination or adjourn the hearing to another time or make such order in the case as law and justice require.
