§ 7561. Other recycling programs A municipality or other public agency may not require covered entities to use public facilities to recycle their electronic waste to the exclusion of other lawful programs available. A municipality and other public agencies are encouraged to work with manufacturers to assist them in meeting their recycling obligations under this chapter. Nothing in this chapter prohibits or restricts the operation of any program recycling electronic waste in addition to those provided by manufacturers or prohibits or restricts any persons from receiving, collecting, transporting, or recycling electronic waste, provided that those persons are registered as required under this chapter.
