§ 7061. Definitions
(a) As used in this chapter:
(1) “Commission” means the Texas Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal Compact Commission.
(2) “Compact” or “Compact agreement” means the Texas Low-Level Radioactive Waste Disposal
Compact.
(3) “Compact facility,” “disposal facility,” and “facility” mean any site, location, structure,
or property within the State of Texas provided for the purposes of disposal of low-level
radioactive waste, pursuant to the Compact.
(4) “Generator” means a person who produces or processes low-level radioactive waste in
the course of its activities.
(5) “Low-level radioactive waste” means radioactive waste material that is not high-level
radioactive waste, spent nuclear fuel, transuranic waste, or byproduct material, as
defined in 42 U.S.C. § 2014(e)(2), the U.S. Atomic Energy Act of 1954, Section 11(e)(2), and that material the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission, consistent with existing law, classifies as low-level
radioactive waste.
(6) “Manage” means collection, consolidation, storage, packaging, or treatment of low-level
radioactive waste.
(b) In addition, terms defined in the Compact shall have the same definition in this chapter,
unless another meaning is clearly intended.
