§ 483. Purposes and policy In order to promote the public health, safety, and other aspects of the general welfare, it is in the public interest to provide information about and help guide travelers to public accommodations and services, other businesses, and points of scenic, historic, cultural, educational, and religious interest. To provide that information, it is the policy of the State and the purpose of this chapter: (1) To establish means by which the traveling public may receive general and specific travel information in a timely manner utilizing current marketing and technological systems. (2) To provide for the effective collection and distribution of travel information. (3) To prohibit the indiscriminate use of other outdoor advertising.
