Requirements for proceedings between the parents of a child

(1)
(a) As used in this section, "relevant proceeding" means a civil proceeding under this chapter:
(i) between the parents of a child;
(ii) that involves the care or custody of the child; and
(iii) that concerns a protective order under this chapter.
(b) "Relevant proceeding" does not include:
(i) any child protective, abuse, or neglect proceeding;
(ii) a juvenile justice proceeding; or

(iii) any child placement proceeding in which a state, local, or tribal government, a designee
of such a government, or any contracted child welfare agency or child protective services
agency of such a government is a party to the proceeding.
(2) In a relevant proceeding, the court shall comply with the standards described in Section
81-9-104.
