Utah Code § 67-4a-705

Military medal or decoration

(1) The administrator may not sell a medal or decoration awarded for military service in the armed
forces of the United States.
(2) The administrator, with the consent of the respective organization under Subsection (2)(a),
agency under Subsection (2)(b), or entity under Subsection (2)(c), may deliver a medal or
decoration described in Subsection (1), to be held in custody for the owner, to:
(a) a military veterans organization qualified under 26 U.S.C. Sec. 501(c)(19);
(b) the agency that awarded the medal or decoration; or
(c) a governmental entity.
(3) On delivery under Subsection (2), the administrator is not responsible for safekeeping the
medal or decoration.
