Appointment -- Qualifications -- Compensation. (1) (a) There is created the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office within the Department of Natural Resources. (b) The advisor on public lands is the executive and administrative head of the Public Lands Policy Coordinating Office. (2) (a) The governor shall appoint the advisor with the advice and consent of the Senate. (b) The advisor shall: (i) serve at the pleasure of the governor; and (ii) report to the executive director on matters concerning the office as the executive director may require. (3) The advisor shall have demonstrated the necessary administrative and professional ability through education and experience to efficiently and effectively manage the office's affairs. (4) (a) The advisor and employees of the office shall receive compensation as provided in Title 63A, Chapter 17, Utah State Personnel Management Act. (b) The office space for the advisor and employees of the office shall be in a building where the Department of Natural Resources is located.
