Organ donor leave

(1) An employee who serves as a bone marrow donor shall be granted a paid leave of absence of
up to seven days that are necessary for the donation and recovery from the donation.
(2) An employee who serves as a donor of a human organ shall be granted a paid leave of
absence of up to 30 days that are necessary for the donation and recovery from the donation.
(3) In recognition of National Donate Life Month, 2015, created by Proclamation No. 9248, 80 F.R.
18511 (April 1, 2015), the department shall distribute an electronic message to each employee
during the month of April publicizing the leave offered under this section.
