agencies and the United States Department of Justice. (1) An LEA or LEA governing board may not enter into a contract or settlement agreement with the United States Department of Justice unless the attorney general's office first reviews the contract or settlement agreement. (2) The attorney general's office shall: (a) review each proposed contract or settlement agreement between the United States Department of Justice and an LEA or LEA governing board; and (b) disclose the content of the settlement agreement or contract to the state board. (3) The attorney general's office and the state board may make recommendations regarding the contract or settlement agreement. (4) This section does not require the attorney general's office or the state board to enforce the terms or conditions of any contract or settlement agreement reviewed under this section.
