(1) A property insurance policy may prohibit the assignment of a right or benefit under the property insurance policy to a property repair contractor, roofing company, disaster clean up company, appraiser, inspector, or other person hired to remedy the damage that is the subject of an insured's claim. (2) A person may not circumvent the prohibition described in Subsection (1) by obtaining a power of attorney from an insured. (3) A property insurance policy may not prohibit the assignment of a right or benefit under the policy to a policy adjuster.
