Duties of committee

(1) Under the direction of the Utah Behavioral Health Commission created in Section 26B-5-702,
the Utah Behavioral Health Policy Review Committee shall:
(a) coordinate recommendations made by any subcommittee created under Section 26B-5-802;
(b) analyze and provide an objective assessment of all proposed legislation concerning
substance use, mental health, forensic mental health, and related issues; and
(c) advise the commission on behavioral health policy, proposed legislation, and procedures.
(2) The committee shall meet quarterly or more frequently as determined necessary by the chair.
(3) The committee shall report any recommendations annually to the commission, the governor,
and the Legislature.
