Transition of duties

(1) As used in this section, "transition period" means the period of time beginning on May 6, 2026,
and ending on January 1, 2027.
(2) During the transition period:
(a) the department may request:
(i) the Department of Health and Human Services to carry out the duties described in this part;
or
(ii) technical assistance from the Department of Health and Human Services related to carrying
out the duties described in this part;
(b) the department may terminate or limit the scope of the Department of Health and Human
Services's power to carry out duties described in this part; or
(c) if the department requests the Department of Health and Human Services to carry out duties
described in this part, the department may make personnel available to the Department of
Health and Human Services for carrying out the duties.

(3) Upon the request of the department under this section, the Department of Health and Human
Services has the authority to carry out any duties:
(a) within the scope of the request; and
(b) if related to this part.
(4) Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Department of Health and Human Services
may use funds from the Qualified Patient Enterprise Fund to cover any costs incurred by the
Department of Health and Human Services related to carrying out duties requested by the
department under this section.
