Requirements for certain treatments for inmates

(1) The department may not initiate any of the following procedures or treatments for an inmate:
(a) a cross-sex hormone treatment;
(b) a primary sex characteristic surgical procedure; or
(c) a secondary sex characteristic surgical procedure.
(2) Subject to Subsection (1) and Section 63-14-45, to treat an inmate's gender dysphoria and any
co-occurring mental health disorder, the department may provide psychotherapy, mental health
care, or any other necessary and appropriate treatment.
