Records open to inspection -- Copies

(1) All instruments of record and all indexes required by this chapter are open to public inspection
during office hours, except:
(a) instruments classified as private under Section 63G-2-302;
(b) military records described in Section 17-71-503; and
(c) instruments with respect to which a redaction of personal information has occurred under
Section 17-71-406, if the redacted copy of the instrument is open to public inspection during
office hours.
(2) Upon payment of the applicable fee, a person may obtain copies of a public record.
(3)
(a) The county recorder may make and furnish certified copies of any of the records in the office
to an individual who pays the applicable fees.
(b) The county recorder shall supply certified copies of any of the records to a county officer for
the officer's official use without the payment of a fee.
