(1)
(a) The board may hire an executive director to be the chief executive officer of the fairpark
district.
(b) The board shall oversee an executive director hired by the board.
(2) The role of an executive director hired by the board is to:
(a) manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the fairpark district;
(b) fulfill the executive and administrative duties and responsibilities of the fairpark district; and
(c) perform other functions or duties, as directed by the board.
(3) An executive director shall have the education, experience, and training necessary to perform
the executive director's duties in a way that maximizes the potential for the fairpark district to
successfully fulfill the fairpark district's duties and responsibilities under this chapter.
(4) An executive director is an at-will employee who serves at the pleasure of the board and may
be removed by the board at any time.
(5) The board shall establish the compensation and benefits of an executive director.
