Sec. 845.054. LOCAL GOVERNMENT. (a) The system is: (1) a unit of local government that is a governmental unit for purposes of Chapter 101 , Civil Practice and Remedies Code; and (2) a local government for purposes of Chapter 102 , Civil Practice and Remedies Code. (b) The system may enter into interlocal cooperation contracts under Chapter 791 , Government Code, and is a local government for purposes of that chapter.
