Sec. 824.303. CERTIFICATION OF DISABILITY. (a) After a member applies for disability retirement, the medical board may require the member to submit additional information about the disability. (b) If the medical board finds that the member is mentally or physically disabled from the further performance of duty and that the disability is probably permanent, the medical board shall certify disability, and the member shall be retired. (c) The medical board may rule on an application for disability retirement at a regular or special meeting or by mail, telephone, telegraph, or other suitable means of communication.
