Sec. 815.002. APPOINTED TRUSTEES. (a) Three members of the board of trustees are appointed with the advice and consent of the senate, one each by: (1) the governor; (2) the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Texas; and (3) the speaker of the house of representatives. (b) Appointed trustees hold office for staggered terms of six years, with the term of one trustee expiring on August 31 of each even-numbered year. (c) Before the 11th day after the day on which an appointment is made, the person appointed to the board shall subscribe to the constitutional oath and the oath of office provided by Section 815.004 . (d) Appointments to the board shall be made without regard to the race, color, disability, sex, religion, age, or national origin of the appointees.
