Sec. 81.178. COMMITMENT TO FEDERAL FACILITY. (a) A court may order a person committed to a federal agency that operates a health care facility if the court receives written notice from the agency that facilities are available and that the person is eligible for care or treatment in the facility. The court may place the person in the agency's custody for transportation to the health care facility. (b) A person admitted under court order to a health care facility operated by a federal agency, regardless of location, is subject to the agency's rules and regulations. (c) The head of the health care facility has the same authority and responsibility with respect to the person as the head of a facility. (d) The appropriate courts of this state retain jurisdiction to inquire at any time into the person's condition and the necessity of the person's continued commitment.
