Sec. 802.055. CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECKS. The department shall conduct a criminal background check on each applicant who submits an application for a license under this chapter and on any controlling person of the applicant. The department may, as permitted by law: (1) examine any criminal conviction, guilty plea, or deferred adjudication of the applicant or controlling person; and (2) obtain any criminal history or record of the applicant or controlling person.
