Sec. 61.152. PETITION. (a) If the board decides to exercise the rights, powers, and authority provided in this subchapter, it shall certify this desire to the commissioners court and shall submit a petition requesting that an election be held. (b) The commissioners court shall schedule a hearing on the petition not less than 30 nor more than 60 days after the date of the petition. The hearing may be held at any place designated by the commissioners court.
