Sec. 60.053. AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT. (a) A district may: (1) promote all agricultural enterprises, facilities, and services of the district; (2) encourage the maintenance and conservation of soil and water in the district; (3) acquire, design, construct, and operate an agricultural enterprise; and (4) expand, develop, and diversify production, processing, marketing, and export of Texas agricultural products. (b) A district may acquire property as necessary, including vehicles, farm equipment, and other machinery and related facilities for the harvesting, processing, storage, packaging, distribution, and transportation of agricultural products or by-products.
