Sec. 58.017. SINGLE-COUNTY DISTRICT; HEARING. (a) If a petition is filed for the creation of a district within one county, the county judge shall issue an order setting the date of hearing on the petition by the commissioners court and shall endorse the order on the petition or on a paper attached to the petition. (b) After the order is issued, the county clerk shall issue notice of the hearing. (c) The petition may be considered at a regular or special session of the court.
