Sec. 56.806. CANVASS; RESULT. (a) The board of each district proposed to be consolidated shall canvass the returns of the election held in that district. The board of each district shall publish the results for that district. (b) If the majority of votes cast in each district favor the consolidation, the districts become one district and are governed as one district. (c) If the proposition does not carry, another election for consolidation may not be held in any district that was proposed to be consolidated for at least two years after the results of the election are declared.
