Sec. 56.017. NOTICE. (a) The commissioners court shall order the clerk to give notice of the time and place of the hearing on the petition by posting a copy of the petition and order of the commissioners court during the 20-day period immediately preceding the day of the hearing in five public places in the county. The clerk shall post one of the copies at the courthouse door and the four other copies within the boundaries of the proposed district. (b) The clerk is entitled to receive five cents a mile for each mile necessarily traveled in posting the notices.
