Sec. 54.1956. NOT GUILTY PLEA ENTERED OR DENIAL OF ALLEGED CONDUCT. (a) On entry of a not guilty plea for a violation of Section 25.093 , Education Code, the magistrate shall refer the case back to the referring court for all further pretrial proceedings and a full trial on the merits before the court or a jury. (b) On denial by a child of truant conduct, as defined by Section 65.003 (a), Family Code, the magistrate shall refer the case to the appropriate truancy court for adjudication.
