Sec. 523.0253. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING. (a) In addition to the notice required by Chapter 551 , the commission shall: (1) publish notice of a public hearing under Section 523.0252 in a newspaper of general circulation in the county in which the hearing is to be held; and (2) provide written notice of the hearing to public officials in the affected area. (b) If the county in which the public hearing is to be held does not have a newspaper of general circulation, the commission shall publish notice in a newspaper of general circulation in an adjacent county or in the nearest county in which a newspaper of general circulation is published. (c) Notice must be published once a week for two consecutive weeks before the public hearing, with the first publication appearing not later than the 15th day before the date set for the hearing.
