Sec. 5.276. FACTORS FOR PUBLIC INTEREST REPRESENTATION. (a) The commission by rule, after consideration of recommendations from the office of public interest counsel, shall establish factors the public interest counsel must consider before the public interest counsel decides to represent the public interest as a party to a commission proceeding. (b) Rules adopted under this section must include: (1) factors to determine the nature and extent of the public interest; and (2) factors to consider in prioritizing the workload of the office of public interest counsel.
