Sec. 433.035. INSPECTION AND OTHER REGULATION OF EXOTIC ANIMALS IN INTERSTATE COMMERCE. (a) The department has the same rights of examination, inspection, condemnation, and detention of live exotic animals and carcasses, parts of carcasses, meat, and meat food products of exotic animals slaughtered and prepared for shipment in interstate commerce as the department has with respect to exotic animals slaughtered and prepared for shipment in intrastate commerce. (b) The department has the same rights of inspection of establishments handling exotic animals slaughtered and prepared for shipment in interstate commerce as the department has with respect to establishments handling exotic animals slaughtered and prepared for intrastate commerce. (c) The record-keeping requirements of Section 433.034 that apply to persons slaughtering, preparing, buying, selling, transporting, storing, or rendering in intrastate commerce apply to persons performing similar functions with exotic animals in interstate commerce. (d) A rulemaking power of the executive commissioner relating to animals in intrastate commerce applies to exotic animals in interstate commerce.
