Sec. 433.023. INVESTIGATION OF DISEASE FINDINGS; QUARANTINE. (a) The department may investigate a disease finding by a livestock inspector if the department determines that the investigation is in the best interest of public health. (b) If a disease adverse to the public health is found under this chapter, the commissioner may quarantine the premises where an animal is located that is afflicted with any stage of a disease that may be transmitted to man or other animals. A quarantined animal may be removed from a quarantined area only on permission from and under supervision by the commissioner.
