Sec. 418.1877. TRAINING ON RESPONSES TO ACTIVE SHOOTER INCIDENTS AT SCHOOL FACILITIES REQUIRED. (a) In this section: (1) "Emergency medical services personnel" and "emergency medical services provider" have the meanings assigned by Section 773.003 , Health and Safety Code. (2) "Local law enforcement agency" has the meaning assigned by Section 418.1873 . (b) The Texas Commission on Law Enforcement by rule shall require the peace officers of each local law enforcement agency to complete a training program for responding to active shooter incidents at primary and secondary school facilities developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University--San Marcos as required by Section 96.42 , Education Code. (c) The division by rule shall require the emergency medical services personnel of each emergency medical services provider to complete a training program for responding to active shooter incidents at primary and secondary school facilities developed by the division. The training program must involve reviewing at least one final evaluation and report required by Section 418.1873 . (d) The division, the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement, and the Department of State Health Services may adopt rules to enforce this section.
