Sec. 411.560. RESEARCH. (a) The division shall annually propose to the commission the research priorities and a research agenda for the department. (b) The division shall coordinate with institutions of higher education, as defined by Section 61.003 , Education Code, to enhance the research capabilities of the institutions and the department by sharing information and aligning priorities. (c) The division shall research new technologies to enhance the law enforcement initiatives and operations conducted by this state, including any border security operation conducted by a state agency, local government, or private organization.
