Sec. 401.153. REIMBURSEMENT OF EXPENSES OF CERTAIN PERSONS OR FIRMS. (a) A person or firm appointed by the department to examine an insurer or to assist in the insurer's examination shall be paid for those services at the usual and customary rates charged for those services. The insurer being examined shall pay the fee for those services. (b) The commissioner may disapprove the payment of a fee under Subsection (a) if the fee is excessive in relation to the services actually performed.
