Sec. 40.006. APPLICATION OF OTHER LAWS. (a) The department is subject to Chapters 551 , 2001 , and 2002 , Government Code. (b) The department is not required to comply with Chapter 53 , Occupations Code, in issuing a license or conducting a background check under Chapter 42 or 43 .
