Sec. 366.180. CONTROLLED ACCESS TO TURNPIKE PROJECTS. (a) An authority may designate a turnpike project or a portion of a project as a controlled-access toll road. (b) An authority by order may: (1) prohibit the use of or access to or from a turnpike project by a motor vehicle, bicycle, other vehicle, or a pedestrian; (2) deny access to or from: (A) its turnpike projects; (B) real property adjacent to its turnpike projects; or (C) a street, road, alley, highway, or other public or private way intersecting its turnpike projects; (3) designate locations on its turnpike projects at which access to or from the toll road is permitted; (4) control, restrict, and determine the type and extent of access permitted at a designated location of access to the turnpike projects; or (5) erect appropriate protective devices to preserve the utility, integrity, and use of its turnpike projects. (c) Denial of access to or from a segment of the state highway system is subject to the approval of the commission.
