Sec. 363.042. TERMS; VACANCIES. (a) Advisory council members serve for staggered six-year terms, with the terms of five members expiring August 31 of each odd-numbered year. (b) The commission shall fill a vacancy on the advisory council for the unexpired term by appointing a person who has the same qualifications as required under Section 363.041 for the person who previously held the vacated position. (c) A person who is appointed to a term on the advisory council or to fill a vacancy on the advisory council may continue to serve as a member only while the person continues to qualify for the category from which the person is appointed.
