Sec. 33.0815. CERTAIN REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENT CLUBS. (a) Subject to Subsection (b), a school district or open-enrollment charter school may authorize or sponsor a student club. (b) A school district or open-enrollment charter school may not authorize or sponsor a student club based on sexual orientation or gender identity. (c) A school district or open-enrollment charter school must require the written consent of the parent of or person standing in parental relation to a student enrolled in the district or school before the student may participate in a student club authorized or sponsored under Subsection (a) at the district or school.
