Sec. 31.0752. OPEN EDUCATION RESOURCE INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL SUPPORT PROGRAM. (a) The agency shall develop and maintain a program to assist school districts and open-enrollment charter schools in adopting and using open education resource instructional material made available under this subchapter, including by assisting districts and schools to: (1) maintain the instructional flexibility of classroom teachers to address the needs of each student; and (2) schedule instructional periods in a manner that allows classroom teachers sufficient time to effectively prepare and present instructional material within the teacher's normal work day. (b) The agency shall engage in efforts to meet the demand from school districts and open-enrollment charter schools that request assistance under this section for the 2024-2025 or 2025-2026 school year. A school district or open-enrollment charter school may apply assistance received under this subsection to offset the payment of costs related to implementing open education resource instructional material, regardless of whether the district or school incurred the cost before receiving the assistance. This subsection expires September 1, 2027.
