Sec. 31.050. FORM OF MANUFACTURER'S AND IMPORTER'S CERTIFICATE. (a) A manufacturer's certificate or an importer's certificate must include: (1) a description of the vessel or outboard motor as required by Subdivision (2) of Subsection (b) of Section 31.047 of this code; (2) the name and place of construction or other origin; (3) the signature of the manufacturer or an equivalent of the signature of the manufacturer; and (4) the endorsement of the original and each subsequent transferee, including the applicant for the original certificate of title. (b) A lien, security interest, or other encumbrance may not be shown on a manufacturer's or importer's certificate. (c) A security interest in a vessel or outboard motor held as inventory by a person who is in the business of selling or leasing goods of that kind may be perfected only by complying with Chapter 9 , Business & Commerce Code.
