Sec. 301.161. ENFORCEMENT. (a) The board shall aid in the enforcement of this chapter. (b) The board may: (1) issue a subpoena; (2) compel the attendance of a witness; (3) administer an oath to a person giving testimony at hearings; and (4) cause the prosecution of each person violating this chapter. (c) The attorney general shall provide legal assistance necessary to enforce this chapter. This subsection does not relieve a local prosecuting officer of any duty under the law. (d) The board may establish a criminal investigations unit to investigate suspected criminal acts relating to the practice of nursing as authorized by this chapter. (e) The board may assist federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies in the investigation and prosecution of crimes related to the practice of nursing.
