Sec. 301.029. APPROPRIATIONS FOR SALARIES, PER DIEM, AND EXPENDITURES. (a) Each house may pay contingent expenses for the entire term of each member of that house. (b) Each house may appropriate money to pay all salaries, per diem, and other expenditures authorized by law. (c) The appropriations to the legislature shall specify separate appropriations for the house of representatives and for the senate. (d) The comptroller of public accounts shall keep each house's accounts separate and distinct. Unless authorized by law, money in one account may not be transferred to the other account.
