Sec. 30.01512. JUDGE. (a) A municipal court of record is presided over by a municipal judge appointed to office by the city manager in the manner provided by the city charter. (b) If the city manager appoints more than one municipal judge under Subsection (a), the city manager shall appoint one of the municipal judges as the presiding municipal judge. (c) A municipal judge is entitled to a salary from the city the amount of which is determined by the city manager. A municipal judge's salary may not be diminished during the judge's term of office. A municipal judge's salary may not be based directly or indirectly on fines, fees, or costs collected by the court.
