Sec. 286.083. REIMBURSEMENT FOR SERVICES. (a) The board shall require reimbursement from a county, municipality, or public hospital located outside the boundaries of the district for the district's care and treatment of a sick, diseased, or injured person of that county, municipality, or public hospital as provided by Chapter 61 (Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act). (b) The board shall require reimbursement from the sheriff or police chief of a county or municipality for the district's care and treatment of a person confined in a jail facility of the county or municipality who is not a resident of the district. (c) The board may contract with the state or federal government for the state or federal government to reimburse the district for treatment of a sick, diseased, or injured person.
