Sec. 285.091. HOSPITAL DISTRICT CONTRACTS, COLLABORATIONS, AND JOINT VENTURES. (a) A hospital district created under general or special law may, directly or through a nonprofit corporation created or formed by the district, contract, collaborate, or enter into a joint venture with any public or private entity as necessary to carry out the functions of or provide services to the district. (b) A hospital district created under general or special law may contract with the Texas Department of Health for the provision of health care services and assistance, including preventive health care services, to eligible residents of the district. (c) A hospital district created under general or special law may contract or collaborate with a local governmental entity, as defined by Section 534.002, Government Code, or any other public or private entity as necessary to provide or deliver health care services under a demonstration project established under Section 534.201 or 534.202, Government Code, in which the hospital district participates.
